If you are looking for ready-mix concrete in Yorkshire, this is the same product you would order from a drum wagon — C8 to C40, batched to BS EN 206 and BS 8500 — delivered a better way. Our trucks carry the sand, aggregate, cement and water separately and mix your concrete at the pour, so the load is fresh when it goes in and metered as it comes out.
That difference matters most on the two jobs that cost people money. Over-order from a drum wagon and you have paid for concrete going into a skip. Under-order and you are waiting on a second delivery with a part-load charge on it and a cold joint forming in the slab. We meter what you use, and if you run short we mix more on the spot.
We run Yorkshire out of our Pontefract HQ and our Leeds depot at Hunslet, which puts most of West and South Yorkshire inside a short run and reaches out across North Yorkshire, the East Riding and into North Lincolnshire. What is volumetric concrete?
Volumetric concrete is mixed on your site by a mobile mixer that carries the raw materials separately. It is batched fresh at the point of pour, so you get exactly the grade and the volume you need, with nothing pre-mixed.
How is it different from a ready-mix drum wagon?
A drum wagon arrives pre-mixed — you pay for the whole load and race a 90-minute clock. Our volumetric truck mixes as you pour, so you pay only for what you use, there are no part-load charges, and there is no time pressure.
Do I really only pay for what I pour?
Yes. The truck meters every cubic metre mixed. If your job needs less than expected you simply stop — no full-load minimum and no charge for concrete you did not use.
Can I get more than one mix on a single delivery?
Yes. Because the materials are mixed on site, one truck can switch between grades and mixes on the same visit — handy when a job needs, say, a footing mix and a floor mix.
What concrete grade do I need?
Driveways and paths usually take C25, structural slabs and footings C30, commercial and heavy-duty work C35–C40. Tell us the job on the quote form and we will specify it for you.
Do you supply rapid-set concrete?
Yes — our URS (Ultra Rapid Set) mix reaches working strength in around two hours, ideal for time-critical work like rail, highways and out-of-hours jobs. Ask for it when you request a quote.
